The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: Indeed the first deed by which a servant will be called to account on the Day of Resurrection is his Salat. If it is complete, he is successful and saved, but if it is defective, he has failed and lost… Jami` at-Tirmidhi 413 "The Prophet was asked: 'Which deed is the best?' Grade: Hasan (Darussalam) Jami` at-Tirmidhi 4 In Quran, Allah says: Successful indeed are the believers: those who humble themselves in prayer; (Quran, 23:1-2) Salah Workshop: Perfecting Our Fundamentals As parents and community members, one of the most important gifts we can give our children is a strong connection to Salah. Prayer is not just something our children need to “learn how to do” — it is the foundation of their relationship with Allah, their identity as Muslims, and their success in this life and the next. It is a pillar of our Deen and thus it is important to instill the foundation of Salah early with our kids. AlFatiha Center and Hamd Institute is offering a very popular and needed workshop for Pearland: Salah Workshop designed to help our youth strengthen and perfect the fundamentals of prayer in a structured and engaging way. This workshop is for: Level 2: Ages 8–12 Level 3: Ages 13–18 Children will learn the importance of Salah, the basics/fiqh of Salah, how to improve their prayer, and how to build a stronger understanding of this essential pillar of Islam. Dates: Aug 1-2 Days: Saturday and Sunday, Time: 11:00 AM– 2:00 PM Cost: $55 per student (sponsorship available for those who are unable to afford so) About the Teacher: Hafiz Hamzah Ghia Currently serves as the Founder, Director and Quran teacher at Hamd Institute, a highly successful Quranic school and Islamic Institute in West Houston. He has over 15 years of extensive experience as a teacher and youth director in the Muslim community. Has written children’s books, including “How to be a Hafiz.” He served as an Imam and Quran teacher for over a decade right here in Houston. He memorized the Quran at the age of nine at Madresa Islamia under Qari Hashim and completed his ijaza with Sh. Uthman Khan and Sh. Syed El- Abdullah. Along with being teacher, Hafidh Hamzah works with different MSA’s, communities, and is a motivational speaker. He also focuses on Tarbiyah with youth from all over the city.
